Preparing for the Capstone ePortfolio Course – EDTC 610
Because the capstone builds on material from each of your courses, it is essential that you begin collecting and saving these materials now. You should have already created an organizational system in your first Instructional Technology (IT) EDTC 600 course that you will use throughout the program to gather artifacts and data for your capstone project. Remember to keep multiple copies of your work and use various means to save and back up your work.
*The School of Education and Counseling (SEC) and faculty are not responsible for keeping a copy of your work.
You will be creating the web page/ePortfolio website in this EDTC 603 course to be used for your capstone project in the EDTC 610 Capstone Project course. Be sure to begin collecting and saving your work now from every course in your ePortfolio website.
Some of the items from every course that will be used for the Capstone ePortfolio include:
1. Artifacts (course projects and/or assignments)
2. Annotated bibliography (details the research/resources used or discovered)
3. Research reflection (250 words)
a. Reflect on two or three “lessons learned” from the research.
b. Reflect on how this new knowledge impacted your teaching practice. How did you apply the research into your practice? How did it make you a better teacher?
For the ePortfolio you will also be asked to include:
〈 Standards and Skills (List the NETS standards and 21st Century skills that are most represented by your selected artifact(s). Include a brief reflection on how the artifact(s) represents the selected standards and skills.)
The Standards and Skills piece can be completed during each course, or you can choose to create this piece in the final EDTC 610 Capstone Project course. The two websites you have created for this course; 1) Capstone ePortfolio in WordPress, and 2) the Final Project - Classroom Website. Additionally, your research on copyright changes in Learning Topic 6 are designed with a capstone artifact in mind.
